Why would you want to invite Kevin to share his life journey?
This story sums it up perfectly.
TEEN GUNMAN ON BIKE SHOOTS LA FATHER, 1-YEAR OLD
Los Angeles (AP) - Police say a teenage gunman on a bicycle shot and wounded a baby and father in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles police Capt. Phillip Tingirdes tells DCAL-TV that a boy between 15 and 17 yrs. old rode a bike past the 24 yr. old father and 1 yr. old boy as they stood on a sidewalk in front of a home in Watts and fired several rounds Monday evening.
Tingirides says the baby was hit once in the torso and was in critical condition at a hospital, the father was hit once in the shoulder and was hospitalized in serious condition.
The suspect fled and hasn't been arrested.
No names have been released and police could not immediately name a motive, but Tingirides said they were leaning heavily toward gang rivalry being the cause.
This story and many stories like this are daily occurrences in many parts of the world. It is just a illustration of atrocities that can be
prevented if each of us take our rightful stand and say NO to not only gangs, violence in every way, but inner city battles and local terrorism.
Kevin's passion is to help educate and awaken the hearts that are ready to hear truth. As he travels and shares his journeys through
his speaking engagements, he sees more and more of the need to gather people of all races to share and make a difference.
Kevin has faced his past with extraordinary honesty and yearns to draw people together from all races and countries around the world
to not just talk about change, but to BE the change we want to see in the world. He has an ability to see what the root of a system is that is not working and use his gifts and talents to make an impact and inspire and lead others on HOW to BE that change in their own backyards.
It is the hour to cut the cycles of violence in families and communities. Time to build strong communities through mentorship programs
(be the example our kids need to see) to build strong self esteem, self worth, good wholesome local food grown with hands of the youth,
a place where youth can say, "I built this house with my own two hands, so I shall protect and nurture it with the same two hands".
If we lead with an attitude that we each take care of our own backyard, then there are no backyards not taken care of. Simple, clean, living
community where all are accepted and taught to take responsibility for their own actions and choose to treat their neighbor as they
would themselves.
Through his experiences and first hand knowledge of how the criminal system works he loves to help bring truth during his speaking
engagements through his personal experiences, the hard facts, symbolism and humor.
It has been said that when Kevin speaks you can hear a pin drop. Many people have no idea what the streets of Compton were like in the
days of his youth with the nightly killings, the family's torn apart by violence. Kevin teaches others to apply ideas and actions like his dream
of a "Coalition of Peace". Kevin's main gift is to educate and share but also to draw people together with a united vision to grow in the revolution of peace. Most leave his speaking engagements with wanting more. He has a canny ability to help people apply his journey to
their own lives and neighborhoods. They leave inspired to make a change in their own back yards. Through reading the book a person can
experience first hand what the horrors of gang violence can be like and through his speaking and sharing they can learn how to take action
to be the change.
Connect with Kevin through this website, Facebook, or you tube (coming soon). More audio and video interviews shall be forth coming. NOW is the TIME to unite.
